Oh, the Grammys, that shining beacon of crazy that makes up for how staid the rest of the Awards season is. Except this time, it wasn't even that crazy. Even Gaga was wearing black, alongside a great deal of other stars. Adele probably wore the shade best, in embellished Armani that left absolutely everything to the imagination, while Gwyneth looked as sleek as a minx in Stella McCartney. The Awards were far from the only gold in sight, with several stylists opting to sheath their stars in metallic belts.
Taylor Swift was the surprise of the evening, wearing something slightly different from what she always opts for, and looking so much the better for it, while Katy Perry opted for something classically conservative and composed, and stood out for it all the more.
Paris Hilton's outfit was also a sleeper hit, although it didn't make the heiress feel any less irrelevant, while Snookie's look just didn't feel garish enough. Perhaps the biggest let down of all was Robyn, who in all white, flatforms and a blocky short-long ensemble should have been the stuff of fashionista fantasy, but instead looked like a tricky trends worst case scenario warning.
