Tomorrow at 9.30am in Sydney and Melbourne, Zara will go on sale for the first time in Australia. Given the madness that ensued at the stores' openings, and Australians' tendencies to go a little crazy at sales, we can't help but wonder what sort of chaos might ensue when the fortress of fast fashion knocks down its already reasonable prices.
Under the condition of anonymity, one Zara staffer confessed to me "I'm very nervous. It's going to be hell."
Shoppers will have plenty of time to get their retail frenzy on, as both the Melbourne and Sydney stores will be open for over 11 hours, until 9pm on the first day of the sale.
