Stella McCartney awarded an OBE
Stella McCartney has been awarded an OBE for her services to the fashion industry in The Queen’s New Year’s Honours List. The timing of McCartney’s award may have something to do with her role in collaborating with Adidas to create the outfits of Team GB (the British Olympic Team), worn during the 2012 games.
This year, McCartney was also granted the dual honour of winning Designer Brand and Designer of the Year at the recently held 2012 British Fashion Awards.
Other recipients of an Honours List award included artist Tracy Emin, who won a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), fashion commentator Caryn Franklin and jewellery designer Harriet Vine.
