The latest Sportsgirl designer collaboration was released online yesterday which sees Sydney label Aje produce a romantic sixties inspired range for the retail chain.

Despite having only two collections under its belt, Aje has quickly risen through the ranks and garnered popularity thanks to its fresh perspective on sex appeal, versatile pieces and penchant for slick leather and shiny sequins.

Aje is the creative collaboration of Edwina Robinson, Adrian Norris and Briana Norris, who each come from different backgrounds (fine arts, styling and financial wizardry respectively) each bringing with them a diverse range of skills. The mishmash of perspectives has worked a treat, helping them to produce two collections and win the Chambord Design Award last year.

The Sydney based design trio also managed to win the attention of retailer Sportsgirl, who offered them the opportunity to create a collection for the Sportsgirl customer. The result is ‘And God Created Girl,’ a seven piece collection inspired by sixties icons such as Brigitte Bardot, Edie Sedgwick, Anita Pallenberg and Marianna Faithful.

Eye brow blessed model of the moment Bambi Northwood-Blythe (no that’s not her real name, it’s actually Stephanie, but Bambi sure does have a nice Disney ring too it) who also stars in the current Cue and Just Jeans campaigns, brings the collection to life in the lookbook, roses in hand and a good old fashioned arch in the back.

Sportsgirls Like Aje is available online now and will be hitting selected stores on August 2nd.
