Last time I gave you a
general clothing care guide for your cotton clothes and selvedge denim. This week, it's your woolly jumpers and kicks.
Woollen guide:
If you're using the washing machine there should be a gentle/wool setting that you can use. There are wool specific detergents but again there's no need to use too much of it. If handwashing be delicate with the garment, dont wash it like you're furiously masturbating, it can stretch out certain parts and not others leaving the garment, again, warped. When drying place it on folded bedsheets in the sun as flat as possible to prevent stretching. Once one side is semi-dry flip the bed sheet over and the garment over.
Dont use the dryer, but with wool you already knew that didn't you? Clever you.
Sneakers:
Most canvas sneakers can be thrown in the washing machine as can some nubuck suede sneakers. Throw in a good scoopful of detergent, because there's all types of public toilet resident evil residing on the soles of sneakers. So a tablespoon of dettol is also acceptable to throw in there. For other fabric sneakers there's a product out there call
Jason Markk sneaker solution. Many sneakers that were ready for the trash have been ressurected thanks to this product - EVEN SUEDE !
Fleece (hoodies / trackpants) :
Refer to
the main clothoing care guide, although when hanging try and buy a thicker armed hanger, the thinner ones can leave imprints on the shoulders that are a bitch to get out.
