On The Road: Agent Provocateur's SS13 Campaign

It’s time to fill up. On beautiful, beautiful lingerie.

You know that scene in On The Road where Dean, Sal and Mary-Lou ride down the highway in their birthday suits?

The Agent Provocateur Spring/Summer 2013 campaign is a sophisticated riff on that feel. Here, the “fabulous, fearless protagonist” is Crystal Renn, who I think we can all agree is way hotter than Kristen Stewart, and she is wearing some incredible underwear as she fills up a shiny vintage Merc and does burn outs with a remote control monster truck.

Titled “On The Road” in homage, and shot by Olivier Zahm from Purple magazine, the vibe is adventure and nostalgia, the signature of a classic American road movie.

Zahm wanted the Agent Provocateur girls “to escape the city and the boudoir and go on an adventure” this season. He was inspired by 70s architecture in American pop artist Ed Ruscha’s Twentysix Gasoline Stations.

“I also thought of girls shot by Helmut Newtown in this same place, playing with the gas pumps.

“The gas station is a fetish, a place to have fun and stretch your legs after hours of driving, a place where you can accidentally meet a handsome stranger.”

Whether you’re into pastels and pretty bows or corsets, chains and collars, the new Spring/Summer 13 collection from Agent Provocateur has the whole spectrum covered. The zippy Blaize onepiece is a standout amidst a whole lot of fun and sexy.

“I wanted to capture the inspirational spirit of freedom and wild adventure I feel from watching Thelma and Louise and by listening to Joan Jett,” creative director Sarah Shotton explains.

“Crystal is transformed in to a rock and roll prom queen, with a retro glamour sensibility.”

It’s enough to make you want to pull off the highway and show off your unmentionables. Ladies, start your engines and get your garters on.
