Missoni x Converse
As part of its collaboration with Converse, Missoni has this week released worldwide the Missoni for Converse Auckland Racer, which debuted on the Missoni Fall Winter 2012 runway in Milan.
The style sees Converse’s Auckland Racer—originally designed in the 1970s as a running shoe—given a re-working in black Missoni space-dyed wool. Metallic copper is used to create highlighting, resulting in a 3D emulation of Missoni’s signature intarsia knit. The result is a perfect embodiment of luxe sportswear that owes its versatility to the athleticism of the Converse design coupled with the understated luxury that’s referenced through the Missoni reworking.
The shoe is only available in men’s sizes, although, like most Converse shoes, we think it’d look rockin’ on anyone. It’s available exclusively in Australia from “Up There Store” in Melbourne, and you can hit up their website here.
