Manolo Blahnik wins BFA Outstanding Achievement Award

Last Wednesday, the British Fashion Council (BFC) announced that Manolo Blahnik would be the recipient of the 2012 British Fashion Awards’ Outstanding Achievement Award. The Award will be presented to Blahnik at a ceremony that will be hosted by the British Fashion Council on Tuesday, November 27th.

BFC Chief Executive Caroline Rush spoke of the Council’s selection of Blahnik: “It is with great pleasure that we announce Manolo Blahnik as the recipient of this year's Outstanding Achievement Award. [...] Throughout his career, he has contributed so much - not only to British fashion but also internationally. He has a worldwide cult following and this is true testament to his enduring talent and success.” The designer responded: "It is a great honour to be receiving this award from the British Fashion Council, [...] To be recognised for doing something I love is really wonderful."

Blahnik has already been granted the honorary title of Commander of the British Empire, which was bestowed upon him in 2007.
