Kate Middleton steps out in Zara necklace
Look, we can safely assume the Duchess of Cambridge can afford to spend more on jewellery than we ever will on anything ever in our entire lives, but at the premiere for the new biopic Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom, Kate Middleton was sporting a $35.90 necklace from fast-fashion retailer Zara.
Thirty five US dollars. Even with the Australian dollar having dropped, that's not an astronomical chunk of change to dress like a royal. What do you think of that, Lorde?
The Daily News reports that Middleton attended the premiere with Prince Will, coupling the affordable necklace with a cream Roland Mouret "Lombard" dress and a ponytail you'd wear to Pilates. After the word started to spread, the necklace quickly sold out of Zara's online store, although if you're gagging for it there may be some left in the shops.
