Georgia May Jagger and Josh McLellan in Sunglass Hut's Valentine's campaign
In a move guaranteed to make singletons and lovers alike feel homely and uncool, Sunglass Hut have teamed up with Georgia May Jagger and her slashie boyfriend, Josh McLellan, for their 2013 Valentine’s Day campaign.
After starring in the brand’s holiday campaign, the two ridiculously good-looking individuals are back for a more intimate series shot by Kenneth Willardt and styled by Kate Mossman, aimed at showcasing “a real relationship filled with love and heartfelt moments that truly captures the essence of Valentine’s Day.”
Baby-faced musician/model McLellan’s band, Turbogeist, provided the soundtrack to a shoot laced with fun and oozing romance. Being Valentine’s Day, there’s no room for subtlety here – Georgia May plants a big red lipstick kiss on his cheek and hangs off his tie; but on their own they both look sexy and sophisticated.
They also have fun with a bit of lovey-dovey graffiti.
“We saw Georgia and Josh’s chemistry come through the Sunglass Hut holiday campaign and decided to have them shoot Valentine’s Day,” explained Fabio D’Angelantonio of Luxottica.
“The whole campaign focuses around giving the look of love and we wanted our customers to relate to the young people.
“Our Valentine’s Day concept reflects the notion that you’ll be rewarded for thinking outside of conventional presents and we believe as a couple, Georgia and Josh convey that in a very authentic way.”
“It’s been great to work with Josh, we got to play around, pose with sunglasses and have fun with each other,” Georgia May said.
“Josh was getting ready to go on tour with his band, so it was really nice to spend an entire day with him before he left.
“It didn’t hurt that he is a natural on camera too!”
She said they were really able to “be ourselves, and you can really see that through the campaign pictures.”
She also loves round Ray-Bans because “they’re so cool.” And Josh? "I'm a Ray-Bans man - Wayfarers."
But the hot couple are traditionalists too. "I think I'll have to get some flowers sorted," Josh said on the set, "Set aside a few hours to go for a walk...and book a restaurant. Candlelit dinner."
But Georgia May had other ideas. "I think we'll make dinner, rather than go out."
Whatever they do they'll be doing it cooler than us, probably. And, we presume, wearing sunglasses.
