Camilla and Marc AW13 campaign
Sydney-based sibling design duo Camilla and Marc Freeman consistently get it right. Known for their signature mix of classicism and effervescence, their layered, sharply-cut and softly tailored pieces have become favourite fixtures in luxe wardrobes around the world.
Their latest collection, ‘The Fundamentals’ (a name, our editor Alyx Gorman points out is ironic as “these items aren’t essential, basic, or fundamental in any form”) is a beautiful mix of trendy, geometric cuts, flirty peplums and striking prints, appropriate as both trans-seasonal work and party wear.
The investment pieces brought out by the local house this season feature recurrent military details (sharp silhouettes, versions of viridian and gold buttons never go astray), pastel palettes and a delectable mix of leather and lace. Woollen and soft, silky creations are layered, while sharply folded colour-blocked pieces become stand alone statements.
Today, the entire collection drops in Camilla and Marc, online, selected boutiques and David Jones stores and without wanting to feed your burgeoning shopping addiction, we recommend you don’t not spoil yourself. Ponder the double negative while looking at the accompanying campaign images.
