Topshop Unique SS13 drops today
Topshop Unique’s SS13 collection drops in the fashion retailer’s Australian stores today, and serving up a delectable palette of modern, minimal and monochrome pieces, you can rest assured that the featured items will become regular high-street-masquerading-as-high-end fixtures until the offering sells out. (Which, we predict, will be pretty soon.)
High-long silhouettes are rejuvenated out of last year’s mullet-abyss, with chic outwear and shift dresses tailored with subtly asymmetric hemlines. Relaxed wraps, drapes and flowing sheers make up some of the collection’s most luxe looks, with mesh insets and super clean lines proving that that progressive sexy sportsluxe aesthetic is here to stay.
Geometric prints (notably, those wonderfully dilapidated crosses), pops of faded neon and delicate/ purposefully sagging pieces injects the retail range with a distinct nineties-meets-now sensibility, as the runway tendency towards femininity versus androgyny is deeply ingrained in this SS13 vision.
Linear graphics, digitally-inspired ripples and a careful mix of opaques, glossy jersey and silk mix wovens render items perfect for the lady desperate for that Dion Lee/ Josh Goot/ Wang chicness, who doesn’t have the cash money to do so. Pair any of the above with ankle strap heels and/or a metallic purse, and voila! You are tomorrow’s street style phenomenon.
