Artistic adviser, Lindsay Lohan delivered her first ever collection for flailing Parisian label Emmanuel Ungaro yesterday. Mini party dresses, blazers and cropped bustiers were, in the style of Kate Moss, a re-hash of Li Lo's existing wardrobe, and therefore, basically pieces we've all seen before.
Ungaro announced the partnership with the star about three weeks ago, after Esteban Cortazar resigned. Spanish designer Estrella Archs worked alongside Li Lo providing the rehab expert with technical design knowledge. Judging by the image above, she looks pretty peeved that she's the ghost writer for this series of re-hashes.
According to AP, Lohan and Archs drew tepid applause from the sceptical crowd of fashion journalists and editors. Quite the opposite reaction to the Balmain and Balenciaga excitement.
Still, the collection will most likely be a commercial success. For every fashion head who thinks outside the box and has their own personal style, there are a thousand more who are aching to dress like a celebrity with orange skin. Soz. Does that sounds racist?
Boring pieces aside, a high-waisted pair of hot pink culottes was visionary, but mainly because they're a design that Li Lo will probably never wear.
Asked how their collaboration had worked, Lohan explained, "We both kind of mixed our (ideas) together, and that's why it came out so well."
"I really appreciate everything that goes into, like, any article of clothing. I think it's fantastic and I think it's so expressive in so many ways," Lohan told reporters from AP.
Asked if she had dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, Lohan replied: "Yes, I've always kind of wanted. This is surreal right now; I don't think it's hit me yet. Maybe tomorrow, or in a week."
