The Limedrop designers recently took a trip to Japan and documented their journeys for The Vine.
Day 1: The theme of our trip to Japan was crazy Kit Kat flavours. It started on the first night and continued every time we walked past a Kombini (convenience store). Turns out they're not so popular now and were hard to find but we did get Green Tea, Tropical, Soy sauce, Wasabi, Roasted soy and sweet potato.

Day 2: This is Hiromi, the assistant buyer for Radd Lounge, our Japanese retailer. It was the first time we had been to the store and it was great to meet the guys running the place.

Day 3: We attended the Design Festa which was crazy big. There were 2500 stands and 50,000 people came to check it out. Our stand is on the right hand side. We found out Japanese people are pretty freaked out by two gaijin who can't speak any Japanese, so communication was minimal. Was pretty fun though.

Day 4: We were interviewed by MTV Japan at the Design Festa which was a bit crazy. Lucky Masa from Radd Lounge was there to speak to the producers to arrange the interview and one of the camera men had lived in Perth and translated for us. The guys who interviewed us are Japanese comedians and one of them decided he needed to be topless to try on our jewellery.
Day 5: This is a tuna head outside a sushi restaurant at the Tsukiji fish market. We got there at 7.30 since they've just changed the rules stopping tourists entering the auction area before 9pm due to the amount of them being run down by Turret trucks.
Day 6: Ne-net is a pretty amazing Japanese label owned by the group that also have Yohji Yamamoto, mercibeaucoup and Tsumori Chisato. Loved the shop fit out and the summery garments. We were quite excited to see that Limedrop would fit quite comfortably within the Japanese market.
Day 7: The obligatory photo booth photo's. These were suggested poses.
Day 8: Our bento box for the Shinkansen on the way to Kyoto. Wish we knew what what everything was but it was usually good.
Day 9: Kyoto was mainly about doing touristy stuff. We hired bikes and rode around Kyoto checking out temples and shrines, sighting Geisha and going to a temple market where we spied a well dressed lass that later turned out to be Cami from
DI$COUNT.

Day 10: We saw this guy in America Muri in Osaka and chased him down for a photo. He insisted we moved down the street to take this shot. Love it!
