Dion Lee's collaboration with Cue is one of the most perfect matches in Australia's short high street x high end history. Perhaps this is because Lee was so impressed by Cue's retail work that he sent the brand an email suggesting the partnership himself.

The result is a more 'daywear' take on Lee's sharp, tailored sensibility and features infinitely covetable pieces from office-wear separates to leather LBDs. We asked the designer to show us some of his key picks from the range, and explain where they fit into a modern wardrobe.

Trench

I like the idea of reworking a classic wardrobe piece, however with a detail that was simple but created a new trench silhouette.
It a great piece to thrown over anything.

Blazer

This classic black blazer has been slashed at the sleeve for comfort.
I love the shape is quite conservative, but the details are quite subversive.

Parka

I love outerwear mixed with tailoring.
This parka is cotton canvas, stiff now, but designed to age and soften over time.
I would suggest this be more with more formal elements.

Dinner Shirt

I love the formality of shirts.
I like that a dinner shirt is quite a formal piece, however with soft voile panelling, it becomes comfortable and everyday.

Leather Sleeveless Shirt

Great to toughen up a clean pared back look.
The cotton mesh back makes lightens this piece up and makes the leather breathe.

Dion Lee's collection for Cue will be hitting stands this month, with more drops in April and May. Keep an eye on the Cue website for more information.
