Lily Allen looked fresh as a blossom at the UK Glamour awards on Monday night with her shocking pink hair. Next day, at the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition private view, she's learned the hard way that the joke is up. Bright hair colour is hard to maintain. Most of Lily's colour has washed down the drain.
Jilly Price, stylist at
Slinky Hairdressing in Gertrude Street Fitzroy says "Because the colour is so bright you lose the pigment really quickly, every time you wash it."
"To keep it in, Lily could use
Color Pact, which is a shampoo that is mixed in the salon by your colourist. It includes the pigment used to dye your hair, so you can wash the colour back in at home."
To avoid the fade, you should also avoid chlorine and shampooing in general. Price adds "Your hair should clean itself after a while, so just avoid washing it as much as possible."
Take note, Lily. Though, I'm sure you'll have an exciting new colour next week.
