Chicks on Speed have put their right brains together in some kind of perfect lovely union of ideas and spawned a bright crazy collab that's out now. Expect no respite for your eyeballs, this stuff is BRIGHT and BOLD.
Natalie Wood, Insight's head honcho and all round lovely lady says "Alex, the Australian girl from Chicks, was at Bread and Butter trade show in Barcelona where we had a stand and was raving to our Steve about how much she loved our stuff. Since we love their stuff too, it was a natural fit to do something together."
That was in 2006, and the ideas have just flowed since then. Wood first met them in Berlin, her first time there, and after that met up with the Chicks in Tokyo and even had phone talks stuck in different planes at Heathrow. The process was smooth, sweet and fun and very much a collaborative effort, rather than a commission or merchandising.
It's set to be a big year for the Chicks. They've got a residency at Craft Victoria early this year, dates to be advised, and are ready to make sweet new tunes to reclaim their spot as queens of electro lady land.
