Do it yourself Fendi clutch

Do it yourself Fendi clutch
Bag pirates having been taking creative license with Fendi bags for years. Now it's your turn.

Neiman Marcus, the US department store, is pedalling a plain white Fendi clutch with ten Pantone markers. The idea is you take to the US$1,300 bag with nothing but your artistic flair and  expert use of textas.

Question is, does anyone trust themselves enough to create a stylish bag using just a packet of textas? Would it just end up looking like some three year old went mental in your accessories cupboard?

If you have some artistic merit this could work, especially if your name is Archibald prize winner Del Kathryn Barton or similar. But if you're even vaguely aesthetically challenged, then this is a rather expensive colouring-in experiment.

But go on, we dare you. Buy a Fendi bag, colour it in and post us your results.

Laila New citizen Laila ON 09 Apr 2008 03:30:21PM Sorry, I forgot one very important market segment. The bag will appeal to those parents whose children have everything and have run out of ideas about how to impress other mothers at Kindergarten. "Look what little Mary made out of her birthday present..."

specialknives New citizen specialknives ON 11 Apr 2008 08:17:57PM You're always in a dicey position when you're a major fashion label that's encouraging personalisation! Remember when Nike brought out personalisable trainers - you could apparently have any text sewn along the side 'unless it was offensive'. Somebody asked to have 'sweatshop' put on their trainers. According to Nike the word 'sweatshop' is offensive (but using them to produce trainers isn't :) LOL
