Watch: The trailer for Game of Thrones, Season 3
“Death is coming for everyone and everything” promises the brand new Game of Thrones trailer, previewing the forthcoming dungeons-and-dragons packed third season.
Dense with blockbuster battles, fierce rivalries and the wrath of Daernys’ army, the imminent season is set to satisfy those insatiable cravings for that torturous middle-aged magic. MS MR’s evocative Bones backing track only enhances the looming suspense, like only “dig up her bones, but leave the soul alone” lyrics can.
The minute-longer trailer is a welcome addition to the third season buildup, because, well, the last two ‘previews’ didn’t really preview anything at all. A thirty second clip of mood music with the series air date (winter is coming on March 31st) and a behind-the-scenes hype-lure were received poorly by the show’s devoted fan base.
So far, what we know of the season is that someone has set fire to a Lannister ship, mythical beasts are a plenty and, as always, an adoring audience will be privy to some seriously deranged drama.
“It's been a long time my old friends.” Indeed, it has.
Based on the first half of George R.R. Martin’s ternary A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy epic, A Storm of Swords, the show adapts the novel's spellbinding plotline in which “The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros are still in the grip of the War of the Five Kings, with the remaining kings Robb Stark, Balon Greyjoy, Joffrey Baratheon, and Stannis Baratheon fighting to secure their crowns [while] civil war continues to destroy the common people.”
