Rachel Zoe to Executive Produce sitcom based on her life
Who's saying what
Deadline reports that stylist-come-designer Rachel Zoe is expanding her empire with a yet-to-be-named half-hour scripted comedy about her life.
The latest iteration of Zoe’s narcissism will be scripted by Assem Batra (Animal Practice, Scrubs) and directed by Todd Holland (30 Rock, Go On), with husband Rodger Berman also assuming an EP role. I die.
The NBC network is yet to confirm when the single-camera comedy will make its debut, and Zoe recently announced that her eponymous reality show – The Rachel Zoe Project – has been renewed for a fifth season. Maybe next season will reach new levels of embedded self-representation, in which we watch a show about a reality star making another show? Bananas.
This week the American ABC also announced that Tyra Banks has a similarly fierce (I’ll stop now) comedy series in the pipeline. Entitled Fivehead the show will chronicle the ANTM’s host’s awkward teenage years.
