Former One Nation leader and one-time fish and chip shop owner Pauline Hanson looks set for a career change.

The controversial redhead is reportedly in talks to star in a new reality television show where male contestants vie for her affections.

Channel Seven is said to have "casually" approached the single mother of two, who has already starred on the network's Dancing with the Stars program in 2004, to take part in her own dating show.

If the show gets the green light, viewers can expect a similar format to Channel Nine's The Farmer Wants A Wife.

Hanson was quoted as saying that while she initially rubbished the proposal, she would be open to genuine offers provided the show's concept wasn't "ridiculous".

"I am open to offers and I think that A Farmer Wants A Wife is interesting and some of those people have met their ideal matches and I think that's wonderful," she said.

The racially charged Queenslander recently split with country music crooner Chris Callaghan.
