When I was little, I wanted Margaret and David to be my parents. But I also wanted to marry Margaret. And be her best friend. And be Margaret. It was a confusing time.

Basically, there are no two people on television with more shared whimsy, friction, and sizzling, sizzling sexual tension than Margaret and David. If you can watch this clip without your heart melting like a wad of butter in steamy mash potato, then you sir/madam, are a robot:

“HOW MUCH FUN ARE WE!”

Great TV duos are precious commodities, requiring the right amount of tension, emotional pathos and break dancing coordination. To celebrate 25 years of Marg and Davs, here is a list of my favourite TV duos. Leave your suggestions in the comments, you guys!

10. Fran and Val—The Nanny
These two are actually the ultimate BFFL combo. Same hair, same leopard print minis, and same appreciation for dollar, dollar bills. In my head, Val and Grandma Yetta move into the Sheffield house and live there forever, and buy lots of cats, and Niles makes them pudding all day.

9. Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy—30 Rock
You know the best thing about this duo? That despite the fan made montages to “She Will Be Loved” on YouTube, Liz and Jack are a man and a woman who don’t have sexual tension, EVER. And despite their (Jack’s) frequent barbs, they actually like each other. LOL, weird.

8. Mulder and Scully—The X Files
The smouldering looks between these two were legendary (although Duchovny may have just been stoned) but what I hadn’t realised until now was that these jokers didn’t actually get together until the SEVENTH SEASON. That is a lot of sexual tension. I hope Scully wasn’t disappointed.

7. Hawkeye and Trapper/BJ Hunnicutt—M*A*S*H
It’s pretty difficult to decide which Hawkeye duo is most boss, especially because when Trapper leaves BJ basically plays the exact same role with added moustache. Then again, such is my weirdly strong crush on Hawkeye that he could have been paired with anyone and I’d list it. Don’t judge me, I was once like you!

6. Jermaine and Brett—Flight of the Concords
Umm, they dance AND sing. This is a no brainer.
