A new exhibition that is launching at
Sophie Gannon Gallery focuses on all things textual.
Text is the visual means through which we communicate. Art is an interactive medium in which we can view text in an alternative format.
Through the integration of text into art (and the wondrous form of text as art - be it the construction, modification and arrangement of text, type and words, textual graphics, headings, logos and icons), this exhibition will find you words that you can look at, and art that you can write.
The exhibition includes the work of Rosie Miller, who cuts up old paperback novels and sculpts them into organic forms.
Typecast - featuring the works of Emily Floyd, Rosie Miller, Mike Perry, Justin Quinn, Martin Smith, Grant Stevens, Sam Winston and Therese Vandling - is on at Sophie Gannon Gallery (2 Albert St, Richmond in Melbourne) from the 24th of June to July 17.
