Leah Giberson has this amazing knack of taking some very homely, very humble dwellings and lifting them into a surreal, dreamy, painterly loveliness.  She paints her subject matter - mid-century homes, caravans, industrial buildings - in a way that makes you wanna live there.  Let's hope there aren't any canny estate agents reading this.

A product of our interconnected, webified life - Leah often finds her source material on Flickr.  These are not homes she knows nor has inhabited.  These images have been made into iconic moments.  Still, mysterious symbols of our suburban lives.

She explains, "Despite all the suburban houses and scenes in my mixed media paintings, I was actually raised by artists deep in the woods of NH and currently live and work in a small, but sunny apartment with my sweetheart, 3 kids and a cat. I dream of owning my own house someday, but for now I make paintings of them and imagine the lives of those who call these places “home”. I suspect it's not always what it appears to be."

Personal favourites, her caravan series lends an eery new meaning to the world of trailer trash.  Check out the best of her campers and trailers here.
