Of course quality always come before quantity when it comes to art. But sometimes being prolific really does add up to something. Narratives build. Grand themes appear. And artists can't help but get better from working A LOT. You don't get good from being lazy.
Gary Taxali is an artist and illustrator who is anything but lazy. His work perfectly walks a line of vintage style, character-based cute with darker layers that made us feel in turn sad, dirty and nostalgic.
The Taxali 300 showcases hundreds of small illustrations and collages originally created for such esteemed publica- tions as Rolling Stone, Newsweek, The New York Times, GQ and McSweeneys among others. All gently stuck to the walls without frames, it is a chance to get up-close-and-personal with some very lovely art.
