Brand advertising for the most part is all about selling the dream or the ideal lifestyle that the marketers believe their audience want to live and in may cases the actual product is seemingly insignificant and some times invisible.
If you believe that to be true then the bikies of the '50s, '60s and '70s were romantic preppie college boys dreaming of serenading their Doris Day or enjoying rides through the countryside and picnics by the lake with their loved one. Not the typical image you might associate with the bikies of more recent times.
In the image gallery above you'll find a collection of Motorcycle print advertisements selling the bikie dreams of yesterday. Some brands focus on romance and others sex but in general the message is motorbike + you come part and parcel with sex and beautiful women... not rocket science really but fascinating all the same.
