Watch: two men painfully recreate childbirth
There's a lone, glaring benefit to being a male of the species: not having to line up to go to the toilet at music festivals. But if there's one more, it's not having to experience (what can sometimes be) the excruciating physical pain of childbirth. Nonetheless, a great many tough nuts probably think, "how hard can it be? I've been kicked in the nuts. You just double over and soldier on, don't you."
Perhaps not. Two male Dutch TV presenters—Dennis Storm and Valerio Zena—recently went some way to replicate the birthing process on their show Proefkonijnen (translation: Guinea Pigs). With electrodes strapped to their guts, the pair were summarily shocked for two hours while midwives attempted to coach them through their ordeal. Shocked at regular intervals to replicate the experience of contractions, the duo soon found their birthing suite more akin to a torture chamber, with hilarious results.
YouTube comments tell the story:
This is scaring me into never wanting children. Ever.
Have you tried pushing out a baby through a hole the size of a golf ball?
Have you tried getting water out of a tap that's in the off position? That's what we're dealing with here.
Have you tried squeezing a watermelon out of a hole the size of a lemon out of your own body?
Thanks God for the penis I really dodged a bullet
