For the movie news week that was we capture both the highs and the lows in one neat little package. Enjoy!

Best: Iron Man 2 in 3D?

While it seems that every film is now coming out in 3D we may finally be treated to something worthy of the technology. Movie website AICN reported last week that Paramount and Marvel are contemplating releasing Iron Man 2 in super advanced digital 3D.

Reports have filtered through of the existence of a 60 second clip of the film in super advanced digital 3D that is doing the rounds. The success of which will determine whether we are treated to the Iron Man sequel in all its glory. There have also been murmurs of a re-release of the original, also in three dimensions, to coincide with the May 2010 release date.

Personally if the sequel is anything like the original it seems like the perfect film to fully embrace the rollercoaster aspect of the technology. Bring it on!

Worst: Big Momma’s House 3?

In what is undeniable proof that studio bosses have no idea what film goers like, Variety reports that 20th Century Fox has begun developing another sequel to the Martin Lawrence cross dressing “laughfest” Big Momma’s House.

It seems that Randi Mayem Singer, who also wrote Mrs. Doubtfire, has been tapped to write the sequel that nobody asked for. So for those of you who were wondering what Mr. Lawrence was doing between Bad Boys sequels, well there you go.

Apparently the first two were, inexplicably, runaway hits worldwide earning over 100 million dollars each, despite the tired and unfunny premise. How did this become a trilogy is beyond me.

Surely there are better stories out there worthy of funding. I suggest we start a petition.
