The five best/ worst quotes from Rihanna’s Rolling Stone interview

She of biker boots and Balenciaga bags, Rihanna, has spoken exclusively with Rolling Stone magazine about her and Chris Brown’s controversial reconciliation. (Its official you guys.)

Without placing judgement on the duo – who’ve incidentally advised us it “ain’t nobody’s business” anyway – the Barbados-born beauty came out with a few crackers in justifying her reunion with the man who did this to her in this month’s US edition of the lauded music mag, and, to spare you from reading the painful self-believing drivel, we’ve selected the top five best/ worst quotes from the interview.

On their tumultuous past:
“It’s different this time.”

On being in control:
“Even if [reuniting with Brown] a mistake, it's my mistake.” (How’s that for self-imposed victim blaming!)

On communication:
“[We] don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about sh-t.”

On their public image as a couple:
“When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world.”

On laying down the law:
“He doesn't have the luxury of f--king up again. That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

Though as one of our commenters Ces Hotabke pointed out (in response to Lena Dunham slamming Rihana and Breezy’s reconciliation) last week, “to be saddened about a really awesome person going back to their abuser is one thing but to actually lose respect for the victim and not like them anymore because of it is just astounding dickheadery.” Concurrently, Rihanna thinks “he made a mistake, and he's paid his dues. He's paid so much. And I know that's not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing.”

What’s your take on all of this, dear readers?

I just wish Rihanna had better sense and more supportive peers.
Because despite being a huge pop star, she sounds every bit as gullible and/or low on self-respect as every woman who has ever reunited with a man with a history of unforgivable physical abuse. And the key word is unforgivable. Some people do unforgivable things, while the rest of us know better.

And Changed Man Chris Brown (CMCB) just had a parking lot brawl with Frank Ocean, so on it goes...
