At first glance, this "tourist DVD" for the city of Melbourne appears to be a laughably inept introduction to the supposed attractions of Melbourne-town.
Our misguided narrator runs us through several of Melbourne's main tourist draws — including electrical towers, sodden dim-sims, milk bars, a questionable pineapple and filthy waterways — as two limp backpacker-types mouth "OMGs" at various decaying infrastructure. It's fantastic.
At second glance, it reasonably scans as a Tim & Eric style, so-bad-it's-good, wind up. The former seems truest but, nonetheless, don't need to be a local to know that Melbourne has enough "charming aspects" that to "present them all would require nearly 2 short DVDs."
Indeed.
