Take a look at Lena Dunham’s book proposal

In October this year, Lena Dunham sold her debut book to Random House for a cool $3.7 million on the basis of a 66-page proposal.

The book, titled Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s Learned, has been described by Random House as offering “frank and funny advice on everything from sex to eating to travelling to work”. Partly based on diaries and emails and filled with idiosyncratic witticisms, cute illustrations and Dunham’s signature observations, the book will purportedly contain subsections called: “I didn’t fuck them but they yelled at me subsection: crying at work: what it feels like, what it does” and  “Platonic bed-sharing: A great idea (for people who hate themselves)”.

The original proposal is now available to check out on Gawker (all 66-pages), including original content and a pretty dubious picture of a pig (a note to sensitive souls). If you’re like me, the contents alone left me scrabbling to see what skerrick of wisdom I could pick up from Dunham’s perceptive scribbling. No news yet on a release date, but we promise we’ll keep you posted.
