From Jennifer Aniston to Beyonce: Massive celebrity engagement rings
Today Jennifer Aniston managed to drag herself out of the house with a boulder clamped around her ring finger. The actress’ accomplishment of this Sisyphean feat makes her pathway to prenuptial bliss look comparatively easy.
At an estimated eight carats Aniston’s diamond ring is undoubtedly one of the most ridiculous, with the Daily Mail suggesting the rock is the size of your average quartz costume piece. She’s far from the only celebrity to indulge in a bit of engagement ostentation though. Kim Kardashian’s rock from Kris Humphries was 20 carats, while Beyonce opted for a $5 million dollar diamond set in even more diamonds.
After an extremely unscientific phone conversation with a lovely lady from NRMA, I’ve established that the cost of insuring a ring of Beyonce’s value would be about $100,000 a year in Australia. That’s right, celebrities are paying more on insurance for their engagement bands than the average household earns in a year. Nice work celebrities.
