For a long time, the movie/fan fraternity has felt strongly - or at least, we have - that the one thing that could cheer Sad Keanu up would be to take a holiday from po-faced dramas to the joyful comedy duo that made him a star: Bill & Ted.
Well, it looks like the prayers of Valley-dwelling metalheads the world over have been answered, as the long-rumoured Bill & Ted "threequel" now looks more certain than ever to become a reality!
Talking to MTV, Reeves has confirmed that the film is definitely in the works, and that the script has been written. The script picks up where
Bogus Journey left off (i.e. when Wyld Stallyns had played the greatest gig in history and caused peace in the Middle East, etc).
So sayeth Ted Theodore Logan: "When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."
If you watch that (unembeddable, sadly) MTV video, Reeves is even sporting his Ted hair again! He seems upbeat and not sad at all! BY THE POWER OF WYLD STALLYNS!!
The best news is that Keanu and co-star Alex Winter are still mates, and Bill S. Preston Esquire is on board, too.
I think this calls for a little celebratory music, don't you?
