Reviews of new film
127 Hours have started trickling in from the Telluride Film Festival - and apparently James Franco is pretty freaking amazing in it.
The term 'Oscars buzz' has even been thrown around, which is rather exciting.
The highly anticipated film by Danny Boyle (
Slumdog Millionaire, The Beach, Trainspotting) is based on the true story of mountain climber Aron's Ralston's (Franco) extraordinary survival tale after he found himself trapped under a boulder and faced with the decision to amputate his own arm.
The cast also includes Amber Tamblyn, Lizzy Caplan, Kate Mara and Clémence Poésy.
The reviewer from
Hitfix believes Franco is awards-bound:
"James Franco... gives the best performance of his career as Ralston. Having to captivate the dramatic ups and downs of Alston's ordeal over five days is no easy task and Franco channels the outdoor lover's energy and enthusiasm throughout. There is a small list of filmmaker who have achieved creative success with back-to-back films over the years, but with '127 Hours' Danny Boyle has just joined the club."
127 Hours is due to be released in Australia on March 17, 2011.
