Glee Star Sued for Sexual Battery
Noah “Puck” Puckerman once said, “I’m a sex shark; if I stop moving, I die.” While his character is known for being a manslut and a bit of a doofus, if the allegations are true, Mark Salling's life is imitating art in a very nasty way.
The Glee actor, 30, is being sued by his ex-girlfriend, Roxanne Gorzela, for committing “sexual battery” by forcing her to have sexual intercourse without a condom.
Gorzela and Salling reportedly began dating in September 2010. In March 2011, she claims she consented to sex with Salling, but only if they used protection. During “personal and intimate contact” with the star, he disregarded her wishes not once but twice, the second time occurring after she protested, “What are you doing?”
The experience left her “overwhelmed with anxiety” in the following days as she proceeded to call and text Salling to ask if he had been tested for STDs and received no response from him.
Worried that she may have caught an STD, she went to confront him in person. When she demanded he prove to her that he was disease-free, he allegedly grabbed her and pushed her over, causing her to hit her head on the ground. She filed a police report that day, the 25th of March.
Gorzela filed the sexual battery lawsuit in Los Angeles Court on Friday afternoon. On top of sexual battery and assault-and-battery, she alleges intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence, labelling Salling’s behaviour “wilful, malicious and despicable”. She claims the experience caused her “severe and substantial mental and emotional distress, humiliation, fear, apprehension, anxiety and anguish.”
By contrast, Salling’s publicist is denying everything. “There is no truth to this,” she told TMZ.
“It’s the textbook case of a disgruntled girl looking to cash in on a TV star’s success. We turn the rest over to Mark’s attorneys and have no further comment.”
Let it be a warning: as Missy Elliot once said, learn a bit of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. and wrap it up before ya smack it up.
