Downton Abbey renewed for a fourth season
In what will come as unsurprising news to fans everywhere, ITV has just announced that British period drama Downton Abbey will be returning for a fourth season. The third season has just wrapped up its broadcast in the UK, where it ranked as the highest-rated season to date, while a Christmas special will air on Christmas Day.
Dissimilarly to the first series, which was set immediately before the onset of the First World War, Season 4 will be set in the 1920s. The new season will be eight episodes long (plus another Christmas special), with shooting scheduled to begin in February.
