'Arrested Development' new episodes and movie announced
Who's saying what
The show's creator, Mitch Hurwitz has announced at a panel as part of the New Yorker Festival that there are plans for a limited forth Arrested Development series and a movie. Supposedly there will be 10 episodes, each focusing on one character, catching us up on where they have been for the last five years, which will the lead into the movie.
Jason Bateman and Will Arnett confirmed the news on Twitter.
@arnettwill: I'm peeing with @batemanjason & we can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie.
@batemanjason: It's true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early '13. VERY excited!
Based around a dysfunctional family the show starred Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walter. Because the television world works in strange and mysterious ways, the show was cancelled in 2006 after only three seasons, on account of low ratings. If you're not familiar with just how great it was, go here and read this.
