Last week we got a glimpse at what Anne Hathaway's Catwoman will look like in Christopher Nolan's
The Dark Knight Rises.
The all black everything, blue LED goggles ensemble (pictured above) was, well… not overwhelming favourable to a great many fans of the franchise.
One poll pitted the previous three Catwomen against each other and saw 52 percent voting Michelle Pfeiffer as the sexiest Catwoman, 37 percent choosing Halle Berry, while young Hathaway came in last place with a modest 11 percent.
Hathaway spoke with
MTV about the criticism to the costume saying, "I happen to know that MTV's reaction was 'meh.' What I am happy to say is, if you didn't like the photo — I'm gonna start with the negative — you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do. And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste."
What we've seen so far is certainly a less sexy, more functional option, but I'm not ready place judgement on Selina Kyle's alter ego just yet. I'm pretty sure Heath Ledger's Joker look suspect and he turned out great, so watch this space.
