As a citizen of Australia, I like to see my fellow countrymen/women succeed. Whether it's Stephanie Rice splashing about quickly in the pool, Rolf Harris wobbling a board or Isabel Lucas slamming Adrian Grenier, I like it when the antipodeans do good.
That's why the trailer for Isla Fisher's new film,
Confessions of a Shopaholic, put fear into my movie-loving heart.
It looks like it might tank. Badly.
And this is bad, because not only does it star an Aussie, but it's directed by P.J. Hogan (he of
Muriel's Wedding fame).
In case you're not familiar with the project, the film is an adaptation of Sophie Kinsella's successful novel of the same name. It focuses on a girl (Fisher) who lands a job as a financial journalist in New York City where she nurtures her shopping addiction and falls for awealthy entrepreneur.
Here's the trailer:
"Let us all pray that the film is a vast improvement on the teaser"
