Vogue's star-studded September issue - pics

How they chose the celebrities for the 'On the Town' photoshoot in US Vogue's coveted September issue remains a bit of a mystery.

Model Stella Tennant perches next to chef David Chang and ice hockey star Henrik Lundqvist towers over one of the Olsen twins. Rachel Weisz poses demurely next to Usher while Dakota Fanning smoulders next to Hayden Christensen and Elly Jackson of La Roux. It's a very mixed bag indeed.

The main shoot for the September issue (styled by the magnificent Grace Coddington and shot by Steven Meisel) took place over four days on the roof of 30 Rockefeller Center in New York.
