Great list. I think Bateman should be higher, though. A head in the freezer next to the sorbet? Bale was awesome in it and I still think he should have gotten an Oscar nom. Psycho basically sunk Anthony Perkins' career because he was so convincing as Bates. One of the first true 'psychos' and his effect is reason enough for teh #1 spot. No Vince Vaughn from Psycho: The Remake???

Bateman is number 1 in my mind, closely followed by Cady.

Henry from Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Banal evil at its best and worst. Great Ugly Film

That coin toss scene in No Country For Old Men is a panic attack wrapped in a nightmare.

Hey, what about the rotting corpses of older films like: Peter Lorre's whistling killer in M by Fritz Lang? A pedophile and a serial killer - Double Whammy! Orson Welles as Harry Lime in Carol Reed's The Third Man? The most charming and enigmatic psycho in film history. And - Max Shreck in F.W. Murnau's forever classic (inspired almost every horror picture since) Nosferatu! Love it!

The fatal attraction of Glenn Close. It just looks so friggin good. I need to watch that movie again!

Great list, however, I think that Dennis Hopper as Frank in Blue Velvet should rate a mention. In fact, he is my favourite psycho - "Don't look at me."

What about Andy Robinson as the Scorpio Killer in Dirty Harry? Don't get much more freakin scary than that

Bateman is a classic - saw it with some mates who were getting into banking - hilarious. thanks to him, I now always use an aftershave with little or no alcohol.
