Yesterday I watched Shutter Island and walked away thinking, well made film, great visual style, the narrative flowed with the odd choke here and there. But who am I to question the talents of Martin Scorsese? Great characters who fit tightly into the plot, however, I walked away a tad dissatisfied with the movie. Maybe because I didn't buy a $300.00 popcorn tub of cola deal upsized to the swimming pool mega-deal. Well known actors, great director and a novel by a bestselling author Dennis Lehane. I suppose the twists and turns of the story had me guessing for a while but I suddenly knew where the story was heading and that took the puff out of my curiosity. Still it was a good film worth seeing.

The one great thing about Shutter Island is the presence of Ben Kingsley better know to me instinctively as 'Gandhi' because whenever I see Ben I shout out, 'There's Gandhi!' Which is rather unfair considering he has done so many great character films, the most outstanding being Sexy Beast which is 'like totally narly dude'. Anyhow, Ben is pretty good in this, subdued but friendly enough.

I saw the trailer for the new Oliver Stone Movie, Wall Street 2: money never sleeps, the trailer was well made and having no idea as to the film's background (I try to avoid the publicity heat so as to enjoy the film), 'Greed is good, now greed is legal'. So if the film turns out to be garbage the trailer is worth watching (in the cinema though).
