An email just landed in our inbox, addressed to tips@gawker.com (always a sketchy sign) and CC'd to goodness knows how many media outlets from someone at BMF, a big creative agency.) The email read:
If you ever wondered what you needed to do to win back the heart of someone you've already dumped twice, this video has a 100% success rate.
My friend taught himself how to use Final Cut, and gave the movie to his ex when she returned from a 3 month trip to NY.
Happy Valentines,
We emailed the tipster back asking him what the video was advertising, and he insisted that the whole thing was legit, and gave us this photograph of the happy couple as evidence.
"Haha – despite me working at an advertising agency – it's not selling anything! I swear to God. The only thing it could potentially do is move a few copies of The XX song that plays. Just spreading some Valentines love" he told us.
We're still not entirely convinced, but what do you think?
And, if you do think it's legitimate, would a clip like this win you back after a double dumping?
