Founded in 1788, it is the oldest and largest city in Australia and

city is available by sea and air, as well as through several major
highways that runs through and around it.
City Centre is the historic, commercial and cultural heart of Sydney and
offers many great attractions to see. One of the main attractions is
the Sydney opera House. This iconic structure is one of the world’s most
recognizable buildings and is a global symbol of Sydney. Guided tours
of the building are available and many concerts and performing arts
events are held here as well. Another great attraction is Circular Quay,
the heart and soul of Sydney Harbour and home to many buskers, street
performers, ferry services and the fascinating Museum of Contemporary
Art. City Centre also contains many museums and historical sites
including the Customs House, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the
Museum of Sydney, the Justice and Police Museum and the Australian
Museum. To relax and find some peace and quiet, head on over to the
Royal Botanic Gardens and Hyde Park or The Domain. Other top attractions
in City Centre are the Sydney Tower, St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Queen
Victoria Building, the Museum of Australian Currency Notes and the
Strand Arcade, a historic and beautifully designed shopping plaza.
The Rocks is a historic, vibrant district home to the iconic Sydney
Harbour Bridge as well as the Sydney Observatory and the Colonial House
Museum. The Wharf Theatre and Sydney Theatre are also located in this
area and are great spots to catch a concert or live show.
Darling Harbour is the epicenter of dining, nightlife and shopping in
Sydney. Home to many great clubs, bars and restaurants, it’s the perfect
place to spend the evening. Sightseeing opportunities in this area
include the Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney Wildlife World
and the sprawling Sydney Aquarium.
Other great attractions and landmarks in Sydney include Chinatown, the
Star Casino (home to one of Australian visitors' favourite fun activity (and the author's, I must admit!)
