Melbourne has some pretty good men’s barbers. It pains me to say it, but we're doing all right down there. A good cut can go a long way for a man. It can define you in some cases. For example if you said dreadlocks I would automatically think; ‘Byron Bay hippie,’ it’s just ingrained in me. Although I’m not one to judge a book by its cover, still, if you have dreadlocks I have a pretty good idea of who you are. In Melbourne places like All the Kings Men, and dare I say it, Dr Follicles are good. Let’s face it, we all need haircuts from time to time.

In LA there a few good places to get your trim done. Rudy’s Barbershop is one place. It’s good but it isn’t my favorite. There is one place that trumps every Barbershop I’ve ever been to. That place my friends is Sweeny Todds. Located on Hollywood Blvd with its heritage dating back to 1927 Sweeny Todd specialize in short cuts for men. When you are greeted with the sweet sounds of Mancini at the door you know you’re in the right place. Basically this is like stepping back in time.

So if you’re in town for business and need a quick trim, Sweeny Todds is the only place you need to look for. My favorite thing is that they do most of your trimming around the sides with a cutthroat razor. It may scare some of you but these guys are true barbers and don’t mess around. It’s also one of the only places outside of Europe that sells Black & White Hair Pomade. The same stuff Elvis used to use.
