Sniffer dogs are a common site at festivals these days. They were at BDO in Sydney and will be / have been at BDO in Melbourne.

We are also hearing of the increasing presence of sniffer dogs in public places (e.g. train stations, city centres).

There have been some incidents related to the presence of these dogs. Bluebelly was told recently of the anxiety and fear felt by a festival goer when the doggie sat down and they were searched.  There is an article about sniffer dogs on the Bluebelly site.
