New Zealand's Kelly Thompson knows the come hither look all too well. She photographs it, studies it, draws it and serves it up.

As a person she is described as "nonchalantly sexy", and not surprisingly her artworks - both new and old - fall within this realm of alluring, lusty and lovely all without trying too hard.

These are beautiful, models who Kelly depicts. And they all know how to pull off a look and a pose with their fashionable attractiveness, but it is the artist's reinterpretation that is just as sexy and just as special. Kelly's delicate, painterly attention to detail makes these girls glow. Her carefully chosen colour palette is always delicious. And the sense that these almost transparent apparitions could easily just wash away says a lot about the transient nature of beauty.

As she says, "I’m beginning to realise that my Mum may have been right when she said that beauty is wasted on the young!"
