I love Karen Elson. Despite the fact that she once personally told me to jump off a tall bridge, I have always, and will always have a soft spot for her.

All pale skin and awkwardness, she's the epitome of female beauty and makes no bones about being confident about her special genes.

"Not many models would admit to actually enjoying having their photograph taken and whatnot. And I do." - Karen Elson on Fashion TV.

The thing is I want to dislike her. She seems arrogant as hell, and of course her charmed life makes me insanely jealous - married to token rock star, two perfect little bambinos, member of one of the most exciting musical/cabaret  acts in the world - The Citizens Band, best friend with Chan Marshall and Michael Stipe, clothes horse... But I just like her.

To make matters even worse, I've just discovered that Karen Elson has actually made the leap from model slash wannabe songstress, to fully fledged musician, with (of course) none other than husband Jack White as producer. Karen describes the debut album as "spooky", and is really thrilled about the release.

The effort, titled 'The Ghost Who Walks' will be released in the northern summer (our winter), through Jack White's Third Man Records.

I want to bag her, and tell you it's crappy, and breathy, and an embarrassment...I want this to be the moment that I can finally severe my girl crush. But the fact of the matter is, she has a good voice. It's pretty damn good.

Karen Elson...Good on you. Not bad for a girl who comes from a town that claims to be, 'the inventors of the circular bandage'!!
