I was lucky enough to catch a preview of Lykke Li's upcoming album
Wounded Rhymes (out this Friday, February 25) over the weekend and it is perfect.
Gone are the more poppy hooks of
Youth Novels in exchange for a more nuanced album, a fitting follow up for the now-seasoned artist.
I was describing the album to a group of friends via email and the topic came up of how you pronounce her name. Everyone had a different opinion and a different reference to prove their point. One person said Licky because they had heard it from a music publicist, someone else said Luke because they had a Swedish friend and someone else said Like. Kind of reminds me of this tweet from the great
Peter Serafinowicz:
"How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct."
For me the question was resolved in my head when I saw this super cute Facebook "Lykke" button.
