It goes without saying but music is a big part of my daily grind.  Everything from the iPod in the car to record player at night. That’s how I roll. Nonstop music. I have worked many retail jobs in my lifetime, some good, most bad. But the worst thing to ever happen is the day you show up without your iPod. You’re stuck at work for 8 hours listening to your bosses Celine Dion collection. There is nothing worse then that, nothing. No offense to you misses Dion, but my heart will NOT go on…

Anyway for a while now I have been on the hunt for a good online streaming website for music. Myspace used to be the place, and then Pitchfork had a good thing going on. But it never was enough, always hit and miss. Someone recently pointed me in the direction of Pandora. Now Pandora is all well and good, but I personally hate it. Advertising between songs is just silly. I can’t stand Pandora. The new hotness is Grooveshark. This website is amazing. It’s like an online version of iTunes. You basically can search for any song your heart desires. If it’s on the Internet you can add it to your Playlist and BAM, instant DJ.

Create an account and your Playlist will follow you to any computer. It’s amazing. Maybe Grooveshark is old news for people. With over 17,000,000 users I’m guessing so. There are so many cool futures to this thing. The only way to figure it out is to play around with it. The genius about it all though is it’s free. It’s your own personal radio station. Oh and no more Celine Dion for hours on end. You’re as free as a bird.
